Projects that come out of daily work and keep growing in the Meanwhile.

A persistent memory layer for AI assistants. Copal sits between the models you use every day (Claude, ChatGPT, agents) and keeps what they produce, so nothing is lost and any assistant picks up where another left off. Self-hosted, open source: the memory stays yours, on your own server, owned by no vendor.
Copal is deliberately voiceless. It remembers, it doesn't converse. To give it a voice you pair it with a harness, an agent that sits in front and uses the memory while it works: the one it's designed around is Hermes, by Nous Research. The agent writes to memory during the conversation, and at the end it deposits the whole session as a safety net, so nothing is lost even if the model forgot to save.
The name comes from copal, tree resin not yet fossilised into amber. Like amber, it keeps what falls into it.
